Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the system design and architecture of the Bigfoot product. They must ensure that product designs are safe, reliable, and easy to use within budget, schedule, and resources available to them. The position also serves as a role model for the engineers and designers.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • You will employ leading edge systems engineering techniques on safety critical applications.
    • You will own and are accountable for the system design and architecture of a Bigfoot product.
    • You will help drive strategic and tactical program decision making with Business Owner, Program Manager and Lead System Integrator.
    • You will organize and lead technical design reviews to ensure that the concepts and designs are safe for users, robust in reliability, delightful to use, lean, sustainable, low risk, and feasible to be implemented within budget, schedule and resources available.
    • You will be instrumental in creating a high performing team that executes on the product vision.
    • You will be the role model for all engineers and designers with your creativity, technical skills and practical design solutions.

    Must haves we’re looking for:

    • We expect you to have minimum 5+ successful years of experience in a similar role, or in challenging systems engineering of multi-discipline products (software, electrical, mechanical).
    • We trust that you have achieved total mastery in team leadership skills.
    • You have demonstrated excellent analytical and problem solving skills in your previous assignments.
    • You value doing over talking and are outcome focused.
    • You are a motivated self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work independently, but more importantly, are able to use the company resources efficiently, effectively and collaboratively to achieve best results in available time.
    • Your work history proves that you are results-oriented, a strong team player, an excellent communicator, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • We expect you to be comfortable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment at all levels, including executive management. This requires the candidate to be flexible and have the ability to handle, both strategically and tactically, multiple threads at a time.

    We’d prefer if you also have:

    • We appreciate your strong knowledge of US FDA Quality System Requirements, ISO 13485, ISO14971, IEC 60601, and IEC 62304.
    • You follow established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, but more importantly you are able to improve existing processes, and create and document processes needed to design products efficiently.
    • You have a gift to recognize problems and not only recommend/implement solutions, but also sell internally the solutions to the upper management and influence the Bigfoot organization.
    • You are naturally positive (but realistic), energetic, and a strong advocate for product safety and quality.
    • You want to be part of awesome, innovative & bold high-tech team!

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in computer science or other engineering discipline.
    • Master’s Degree (MS) is desirable. Preferably a degree in both computer science and electrical (or mechanical) Engineering.
