The Vice President, Business Development is a critical new addition to the senior leadership team reporting to the President & CEO. The successful candidate will assume a highly visible role within the company, responsible for leading and expanding business development activities. Business development responsibilities include canvasing, vetting and establishing company partnerships, alliances and channels that support Bigfoot’s mission, product offering and overall ecosystem.

The successful candidate must have proven skills in the strategic assessment of new business opportunities and partnerships that will meet the needs of the Bigfoot business model. These will include business case modeling to expand existing partnerships, alliances and payer relationships, and can also include additional products, services and alliances outside of the company’s current market. These relationships would leverage the power of Bigfoot’s solution and overall ecosystem. The successful candidate understands the global market dynamics and has a keen knowledge and awareness of competitive products, solutions and service offerings. He/She will have demonstrated competence across a broad spectrum that includes but not limited to strategic planning, data analysis, new product launch, product positioning, pricing, reimbursements, demand planning, and partner program development.

The successful candidate will possess the business acumen and demonstrated track record of identify strategic alliances, partnerships, third party relationships and potential acquisition targets that align and expand Bigfoot’s solution. He/She will possess the ability to structure and negotiate both traditional and innovative business relationships that provide long term value for the Bigfoot ecosystem. He/She will be a self-starter, a creative problem solver and “deal maker” who thrives in a fast-paced, small company environment and most importantly, delivers superior results.

Bigfoot is small but growing rapidly; the expectation for market adoption and penetration, revenue growth and profit is high. Therefore, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to rapidly articulate a well-thought out marketing plan and then make the necessary adjustments to the company’s marketing, health economics/reimbursement and sales strategy to achieve the desired gains.

As a member of Bigfoot’s executive leadership team, the Vice President, Business Development will work with a dynamic group of world class medical device experts and other entrepreneurs in a stimulating “get-it-done” environment. Bigfoot fosters a collaborative, cross-functional, interactive approach to decision-making and, therefore, the Vice President of Business Development will be expected to contribute beyond his/her area of expertise.
The Vice President, Business Development will be a high-energy, hands-on entrepreneur with a demonstrated track record of success leading business development initiatives for other innovative technologies, particularly those creating a new market. Extensive experience leading business development for other disease management technology companies or innovative devices to treat chronic diseases will be beneficial. Experience working with payers is required.

The Vice President, Business Development must be an effective leader and an excellent communicator, radiating compassion, integrity and loyalty to Bigfoot, respective investors, and employees. He/She must have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong convictions and passion about life-changing therapies which may, at times, require overcoming skepticism that is inherent with breakthrough innovations. In order to work effectively with the Bigfoot team, the successful candidate must be both strategic and tactical, with the ability to lead and direct as well as exhibit a “roll up the sleeves” and “nothing is beneath me” attitude.

    • Secure critical partnerships and alliances in support of Bigfoot’s business model, strategy and product roadmap.
    • Monitor, cultivate and manage Bigfoot’s portfolio of prospective partner and alliance relationships and associated programs.
    • Develop business cases and communications for use in strategic partner development and management discussions.
    • Identify, lead and negotiate strategic deals to achieve successful attainment of the sales and marketing plan.
    • Design and execute partner programs that continuously gain market adoption, grow the Bigfoot brand and create a noticeable, growing share of the diabetes market.
    • Differentiate with people first; attracting and retaining the very highest caliber of business development professionals. Develop staffing requirements and assume responsibility for planning, recruiting, training and motivating the necessary team members.
    • Possess excellent communication skills, radiating a confidence which elicits instant credibility both within Bigfoot and into our partner community. Develop strong relationships with the entire team at Bigfoot, quickly earning a reputation as a reliable and respected leader.
