The Electrical Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership in the electrical engineering discipline and lead/mentor junior engineers in developing high quality medical device product. Capable of integrating requirements and have demonstrated judgement to balance the needs of cost, quality and time-to-market.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design, develop and maintain electronic circuits and systems for medical devices integrated with mechanical and firmware components.
    • Provide electrical engineering support for new product development.
    • Develop work effort and scope estimates, efficient resource assignment.
    • Lead electrical engineering efforts, mentor electrical engineers, contractors, and collaborate with outside development partners.
    • Generate technical specification and subsystem requirement specification documents.
    • Generate detailed design and quality-controlled documentation.
    • Participate in FMEA, risk analysis and verification/validation of product design.  

    Experience Requirements

    • MS with a minimum 7+ years of experience in electronic system design; or BS with a minimum 10+ years of experience in electronic system design.
    • Experience in leading and mentoring electrical engineers.
    • Experience in transferring designed product to manufacturing, including delivery of manufacturing test fixtures and calibration systems.
    • Demonstrated experience developing class 3 medical devices that have been fielded.
    • Proven ability to partner with cross functional organizations to successfully deliver the product.

    Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Strong knowledge of US FDA Quality System Requirements, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 60601 and IEC62304.
    • Strong technical/leadership skills, decisive, determined, strategic and able to lead, motivate, and inspire others.
    • Demonstrated track record of PCB and PCBA manufacturing methodologies and processes.
    • Demonstrated track record of strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with 2.4GHz and Sub-1GHz RF design.
    • Experience with Internet-connected wearable product design.
    • A strong team player, results-oriented, excellent communicator, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
    • Master’s Degree (MS) in Engineering discipline, preferred.
