Senior Software Engineer, Algorithm Realization”  The successful applicant will work closely with data science and engineering stakeholders to develop production quality tools (models, simulations, reports, algorithms) to support business, regulatory, clinical, and product development activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with stakeholders to plan approach, define success
    • Turn knowledge into tools and production-quality code  

    Must haves we’re looking for:

    • 5+ years of software engineering experience, delivering production-quality software
    • Expert knowledge of contemporary software development practices
    • Analytical language and framework familiarity:  software design, architectural patterns, agile software development
    • Desire to learn more about statistics, probability, modeling, and control engineering
    • T-shaped:  strong in software engineering, able to deliver actionable results in a collaborative startup environment: excellent pragmatic problem solving, data-driven problem solving approach, extreme attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn and grow new skills and experiences
    • Experience with Python, Java, C++, or Matlab

    We’d prefer if you also have:

    • Domain expertise: knowledge of diabetes, knowledge of control engineering: feedback control, discrete and continuous time transfer functions, system identification, PID, model predictive control
    • Lean / agile experience:  scrum teams, daily standups, time-boxed development, visual management systems, peer collaboration

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, computer science preferred
