The Software Engineer is part of the Software Applications Development Team and is responsible for analyzing component requirements, designing software solutions, and implementing Bigfoot software systems on mobile and cloud platforms. Bigfoot Software Engineers are also responsible for developing and maintaining automated software component tests and test frameworks. The right person for this role will be a detail-oriented, results-oriented self starter with the flexibility to adapt to change in a fast-paced startup environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implement component software requirements
    • Document detailed design of component requirement implementation
    • Write automated tests for component requirements
    • Meet QMS standards and requirements for developed software
    • Perform code and documentation reviews to engineering and QMS standards
    • Test Frameworks - Implement and maintain testing frameworks as required
    • DevOps - Implement and maintain CI and CD infrastructure as required

    Must haves we’re looking for:

    • 3+ years recent hands-on software development experience in a lean/agile environment
    • Expertise in Java and Javascript
    • Experience building Web 2.0 Applications
    • Experience building iOS and/or Android Mobile Applications
    • Experience building RESTful web services using the Spring framework
    • Experience with test frameworks
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Self-motivated, highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to flex across a variety of roles in an innovative, fast-paced, start-up environment

    We’d prefer if you also have:

    • Experience with React and React Native
    • Experience with iOS development / Swift
    • Experience with Google Protobufs
    • Strong technical and leadership skills: decisive, determined, strategic, and able to lead, motivate, and inspire others

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering or similar field
