The Staff Firmware Engineer will provide technical leadership in the embedded software development
and collaborate with cross functional teams to drive to deliver high quality medical device product.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide technical leadership in embedded software development.
    • Design, develop and maintain embedded software for medical devices integrated with mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Maintain embedded software requirements.
    • Generate detailed design and quality-controlled documentation.
    • Write and execute comprehensive unit tests to meet quality standard.
    • Investigate root causes of the software defects and resolve the defects.

    Experience Requirements

    • MS with a minimum 10+ years of experience in professional embedded software development; or BS with a minimum 15+ years of experience in professional embedded software development.
    • Experience with programming in C language and Python.
    • Experience with small footprint real-time operating system.
    • Experience with Internet-connected embedded software security.
    • Experience with ARM Cortex MCU and multi-MCU system.
    • Experience with safe critical embedded software design and design patterns.
    • Experience with Low Power embedded software design.
    • Experience with Medical Device product life cycle development.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Strong knowledge of US FDA Quality System Requirements, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, and IEC 62304.
    • Strong technical/leadership skills, decisive, determined, strategic and able to lead, motivate, and inspire others.
    • Demonstrated track record of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • A strong team player, results-oriented, excellent communicator, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.
    • Extensive experience with Bluetooth Low Energy and Near Field wireless
    • communication standard.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
    • Master’s Degree (MS) in Engineering discipline, preferred.
